fat
Is it true that some people get fatter easyier than others becasue i know people who can eat whatever they want and not get fat but if i eat hardly anything i seem to put on alot of weight...is this something i can change...or should i just try to eat less?
Hi there
It's absolutely true. There are some people who just store energy as fat, and others who don't. it all comes down to metabolic rate, which is largely genetic. Some people are therefore better able to take that fat or sugar and use it right away, others don't and hence they store it. You can, to a certain extent alter your metabolic rate by doing regular exercise, because exercise increases your lean body mass, which means you have more muscle and less fat. Muscle is much more metabolically active and so it helps to lift your metabolic rate, meaning that you too will be able to use fat and energy much more than before you exercise. So that's one thing you can do. The other is to make sure you don't eat in excess of what you use. Some people are lucky, they can get away with it. Others are not, then can't eat too much, and you just have to learn your limits and then be disciplined and stick with it.
Good luck
