Hello Mayo!

You cannot "spot reduce" the fat off of your belly with any specific abdominal exercise. To effectively lose weight, you must burn more calories than you take in!!! The key way to do this is to by dieting, dieting plus exercise or exercise alone. Cardiovascular exercises like walking, jogging, aerobics, cycling, hiking and swimming are great calorie burners. The "fat" that you burn will come off of all fat deposits, incuding your middle, so be patient: with time and diligence, you will slim down your middle and become healthier and more energetic. Avoid "quick" weight loss programmes and aim to lose about 1 kg per week; anything more than that is probably water loss rather than pure fat loss.

Good Luck!
