Hi Smile

During exercise, the tricky part is understanding that the muscles are able to use glucose. So, at rest, as a diabetic, you will not be able to use the glucose, or get it from the blood into the cells, because of the absence of insulin, or the ineffectiveness of it. However, during exercise, the picture is very different because you don't actually need insulin when you exercise, the glucose can get into the cells just fine without it. So, as a diabetic and assuming that you are injecting insulin, the trick is not so much what you should eat or drink, it is knowing how to control the insulin dose that you give yourself. Things like Energade are still the best for exercise, even in a diabetic. At rest, it's another story, and foods with a high GI should perhaps be avoided, as they may cause larger deviations in your blood sugar levels. however, for exercise, I would still suggest Energade, powerade, and the sports bars. The trick, as I said, is understanding that if you exercise, you must reduce the insulin dosage appropriately. This is a very risky proposition, however, and so if you are starting out or confused about this, it's vital that you chat with a doctor about it and make sure that you are doing the correct thing.

Good luck
