Shoulder injury
Hi,
I injured my shoulder end of Sept '03 and sort of rested it - I was able to do seated "Arnold" shoulder presses but that's it! My GP sent me for a sonar but that showed that my rotator cuff and all those little muscles were a-ok, all
of them 100%. What exercises can i do to strengthen / heal my shoulder?
I'd prefer to keep surgery as the very last option!!
A guy at the gym suggested "internal and external rotations to strengthen your rotator cuff", but I have no idea what that is or how to do that.

Hi JRX
Firstly, the best advice would be to see a Biokineticist, who having assessed your strength, can prescribe a "shoulder" programme specific to your needs. Yes, it will cost more than getting free advice from a "guy in the gym", but you'll be assured of a professional, individualised programme.
Also consider visiting 2 good websites for articles on rehab exercises. The second article is about swimmers, but still has some effective exercises.
1. http://www.orthoinfo.aaos.org and click on the shoulder.

I hope this advice helps.
