Hi Zan

You are on track from the sounds of things - you have to be patient though. The main thing for you to do now is to continue with your current training schedule and particularly the cardio exercises like the aerobics, and cycling and kata box. I would suggest a minimum of four days per week of these exercises, possibly more, although don't overdo it. These are very important in reducing weight and body fat percentage. At the same time, what you can begin to incorporate into your training is some weight training - it is important to do this type of weight training for the thighs, abs and buttocks because it increases lean muscle mass and adds defintion, but the important thing to remember is that you must be doing cardio at the same time for weight loss. The exercises that you do will depend on whether you have access to a gym or you do body weight exercises at home. I would suggest you have a look at the 'Zone-in-on' section of the Health 24 website (www.health24.co.za). You can find this section under 'Fitness', and then just click on the image that shows the areas you want to work on, and you will be able to see the exercises relevant to you.

Lastly, keep in mind that this is a very common problem, and changes in certain areas can happen very slowly, because some people do just have a specific distribution of fat, and it can be hard to fight against this. I would say that depending on a number of factors (your body type, current weight, genetics, diet etc) you can expect results within a few months. Remember that fitness changes often happen before changes in body shape, and so don't get despondent if you are not seeing that six pack - just work towards getting fit and getting strong, and it will come!

However, be patient and keep at it!

Good luck
