varicose veins
My father is in relatively good health for 80yrs. He is however suffering with very big varicose veins. I have read up about a lazer treatment, which is now available. They advertise a 98% success rate as well as little recovery time. Are you aware of this procedure and the big question: Is this procedure available is South Africa?. If it is, how do I go about finding out who would be able to help him as they live on the South Coast. Any info would be gratefully appreciated. The treatment I read up about was called Endo Laser Vein System. Thank

I'm not the best person to speak on this - I know probably as much as you do, since varicose veins are not really something that I'm qualified to comment on in any detail, and my knowledge is limited to reading as yours is. I think that in terms of finding out about the procedure, you would either have to speak with your doctor, or look up a vascular specialist at a local hospital and find out that way. The surgery would have to be performed by a specialist, and so that would logically be the best way to find out more about it.
