Hi Maryka
THere are a number of Walk for Life branches that you could join for some company on these walks - there is a website with details of these branches and also the time that they meet every week - http://www.runwalkforlife.co.za/branches.htm. I know for example there is one at Somerset West on Mon, Wed and Fri at 5h30 pm, but there may be another that is more convenient. If you give them a call, they would be able to direct you to a specific location.
The other alternative is that you could start walking on your own, or with a small group of friends, using a programme from the Health 24 site - go to the Fitness page, and then click on 'Shape up" near the top of the page. On the left hand side of this page, you will see a section titled "Goals" and you can select 10 km walk and follow this programme if the Walk For Life option is not feasible.
Good luck
