Hi John
I don't think you will bulge up at all if you stop. Remember, this is just one exercise, and it's main role (being a static, weight training activity is not really weight loss or fat burning, but muscle toning and building). Therefore, the running is more important in preventing weight gain, if that is your main goal from the training. The important principle when it comes to weight gain or loss is that as soon as your energy intake exceeds your energy output (from exercise), then you start to gain weight (an oversimplification, but this is the general idea). So, whether you stop exercise or not, as long as your energy output remains high, you won't bulge up. This is obviously hard to do, so my advice is to keep running, certainly, and if you feel like doing some weight training, then do it, but don't panic over gaining weight, because as long as the regular cardio exercise like running is there, you will be OK.
Good luck
