To Ollie:
Hi Ollie

A very interesting message from you. Spiritually things are not too well with my soul these days, but there was a time i used to be extremely close to God, a born-again Christian, etc.

So my question to you, why are you only quoting passages from Old Testament? As a born again Christian, it is often understood that the New Testament and Jesus dying on the cross and being resurrected FULFILLED the Old and introduced a NEW covenant. Much of what is said is the Bible, especially in the Old Testament, was "cultural" and had good reasons for it, eating pork for example in those days was really dangerous - we still know today that eating pork if not prepared properly, you might run the risk of getting some worms, etc. The Jews also wore long robes and i don't see any christian men wearing those any more, but really now, the issues that you are raising seem to be part of the Old covevant to me - and since the New has replaced the Old, I have a problem with the way you are interpreting things.

By no means am i saying i have the ultimate answer here, i am just saying that there are different ways of INTERPRETING the Bible and the New and Old testaments.

I would love to hear your response!
