Antithrombin depletion
Hi
I have recently been diagnosed with low levels of Antithrombin?
Apparently this is genetic?

What causes this and can it be treated successfully/

Many thanks

Dear JS

If you have a family history of thrombosis it is possible that your condition is genetic. It may also be acquired, especially if other conditions such as kidney problems are also present. I recommend that you contact Prof Erna Mansvelt at 021 9385348/4610 for more information about possible further testing and treatment. I have discussed your question with her.

Regards, Maritha
