twins or triplets etc
hi doctor

if my husband's mother or ouma was a twin, and none of his 4 other brothers and sisters had twins (they have 9 grandchildren so far), what are our chances of having twins?

i am also on fertomid, i know that can cause multiple pregnancies, but does the twin in his family contribute as well? i would like to have twins but suppose there is nothing i can do but just let nature take its course?

thank you

Dear Sarah

You are right you will have to let nature take its course, not something you can make happen by taking medication. It is not possible to give an accurate estimate of your chances to have twins but you have a better chance than couples with no family history of twins.
