8 weeks pregnant and feel uncomfortable
Hi Doc / All

I am 8 weeks pregnant and been to the doc last week as I was bleeding a bit with discharge. My gynae showed me where the bleeding is coming from (the top of the uterus) and said that it is nothing serious but the gave me some pills - utrogestan.

I am concerned as I still feel uncomfortable around my tummy and I experience cramping, although the bleeding has subsided. Yesterday i had a constant crampy sort of feeling in my tummy. Is this normal? Is this the way of my body adjusting?

Please help, I am really concerend and want to know if everything is normal.

Also, I gained 1kg in 6 days - I dont eat that much. Is this normal so early in pregnancy.

Thanks for all your help...

Some cramps during pregnancy are normal as the uterus stretches. The bleeding is worrying, but there is nothing else you can really do other than taking it easy and avoiding intercourse. The majority of threatened miscarriages will setlle down and carry on normally.
A weight gain of 1 kg is normal.

Best wishes
