Hi Doc
I found a lump on the inside of my vagina. I saw a doc today who diagnosed a Bartholin cyst that has become infected. He has put me on a course of penicillin antibiotics. Will this cyst develop into an abcess or can the antibiotics stop that from happening? Am I at any risk of anything worse happening? I am terrified to say the least... Please help, any advise is GREATLY appreciated!!

The antibiotics can prevent an abscess from developing, but not always. If an abscess does develop, it may need drainage. That is the worst that can happen.

Best wishes
