Cause of this?
Good day!
I had an ectopic pregnancy 2 years ago, but I didn't excpect anything until 11 weeks. My period was late, all my home tests were negative. It was only discovered when my period lasted for 3 weeks and I started having definite pains.
My cycle is usually 31 days.
Last month I again had a prolonged period of 12 days, and my dr discovered a cyst on my left ovary. I was treated with provera, my period stopped and I then had a normal period. My dr said the cyst had collapsed, and also said there is activity and I should definitely ovulate this month.
On days 16,17,18 I had ovulation symptoms and pains. We are ttc. I am now on day 39 of my cycle. I had 3 negative pregancy tests and two that showed just the outline of the second line. Because I tested over the past week, and don't have any definite positives, I am assuming I am not "normally" pregnant.
I obviously have "another ectopic" on my mind right now, and I am avoiding the bloodtest being a bit afraid of the outcome.
I don't have any definite pain, but just twinges on the left side. Could it be that the cyst is still causing these twinges, and that the provera is still having an effect of keeping my period away? What other causes could there be?

You need to do the blood test. An ectopic preganncy or other early pregnancy would be the first thing to think of. If the cyst had collapsed, it should not be daleying your perod. If you are no longer taking the provera, it should also not have any effect.
