Cervical polyps
I had an operation with a D & C and cervical polyps removed. The doctor now says the polyp is too large to be removed virginally and I need a hyteractamy to remove the growth. What exactly is a polyp and are there any other options available to me?

A polyp is a growth of the lining of the uteus or cervix. If it is very large, a hysterectomy would be the only option, but most polyps can be removed without this if there is only one.
