Clomid did not work
I am feeling really down today. My gynea decided to put me on two months treatment with Clomid before going over to more drastic measures. I did not notice any of the telltale signs of ovulation and then on day 17 I had bad pain in my lower pelvic area both left and right hand side - this continued until day 20. I phoned my gynea and she told me that it was likely that I was ovulating then only. I went for a blood test (progesterone) on day 21 and it showed that I had not ovulated. Now she wants to put me on 100mg Clomid next month. I am worried that the pain could have been due to cysts? or that if I only ovulated later it would not show up on the blood test taken on day 21? If I did not ovulate then when should I get my menstuation - how will I know if I am late or not? I feel like crying. I know that I should not have gotten my hopes up but that is easier said than done. Right now I am questioning life - I have a beautiful daughter of 5.5 yo and I believe that I am a good mother. I would like to be a good mother to another child.... OK - enough wallowing in self pity. Please tell me what you think? Regards Jenny

It is difficult to know if and when you ovulated without tracking your cycle. This is done with serial ultrasounds and blood hormone measurements. All the rest is guessing. The pain could have been from cysts forming but not getting big enough for ovulation. If you are going onto a higher dose of Clomid, it would be useful if your gynaecologist tracked your cycle to see what effect the Clomid has.
