Cone Biopsy - what to expect
I visited my gynae this week for a pap smear. While doing it, I started bleeding and he mentioned that I had an ulcer all around the opening of the womb. The results from the pap smear came back and my gynae says that it doesn't look good. He wants to perform a cone biopsy later this month. I want to know whether I will be able to have children after this, is it dangerous and will I have any long term problems because of this procedure? My gynae cannot give me any info until he's seen the report from the biopsy. Please help, I'm extremely worried...!!!
A cone biopsy may result in an incompetent cervix, which can cause miscarriages. However, you can have a stitch inserted to prevent this.
