Contagious diseases
My son of 22 months has been diagnosed with strep throat. About 3 days prior to the diagnosis, we were visiting a friend, who is about 14 weeks pregnant - would this be harmful to her or her baby?

Also, we are expecting to visit another friend, who is due to give birth on 21 August - should we rather stay away from her, or will it be fine?

My son is now on antibiotics, and I read on the internet that it is only contagious for up to 48 hours after antibiotics are started.

Please advise, as I don' t want to put my friends or their babies at risk.

The worst that could happen is that your friends would get colds. He should be non-infectious after 48 hours anyway.
