Diotroxin / eltroxin / tertroxin
Hi doc
I am currently almost 21 wks pregnant and have been using diotroxin (1x daily) for the past 6+ years.
The manufacturers have run out of this and I was told by the chemist to take 1x eltroxin and .5 tertroxin to make up 1x diotroxin.
Now the manufacturers have also run out of tertroxin!!!

My gynae then said I should then take only 1mg (1x) eltroxin.
I am not totally comfortable with this as the dosage will be too low and I know that your thyroid levels can have an impact on miscarriage?
Could you please guide me as what to do - I will also be changing gynaes.

What is the impact on using diotroxin for so long and then chaning overnight onto another version eg eltroxin & tertroxin. If diotroxin comes back on the market soon, can I change back to it overnight again with no consequences?

Thanks doc!!

These drugs are all very similar and I do no know the details of when and how each should be used. The best person to speak to would be the physician or endocrinologist looking after your thyroid problems.

Best wishes
