how long does labour take, from the first contraction up to the time the baby comes out.
i heard someone saying that she was in labour for 24 hours, is this possible? another one said 15 hours, how true is this?

The uterus starts having little contractions from two to three weeks before labour. This can sometimes be confused with labour. True active labour is taken from the time that the cervix dilates and should not last more than 10 hours unless there is a problem.
