Embarressing problem
Hi, I have a really strange problem - have done lots of internet research and can't find a mention of it anywhere. I'm around 33 weeks along in my second pregnancy and around 3 weeks ago discovered what I can only describe as 'blood blisters' in my genital area - some of them feel quite hard and they look horrible! I phoned my gynae about it, he said its nothing to worry about - that its related to the pregnancy and is caused by high levels of Oestrogen during pregancy. I went to see him for my monthly check up about a week later and he didn't seem concerned at all, didn't even check it out. Last night, after I had a nice long bath, one of them seemed to burst and there was quite a bit of bleeding. Çan the doc please confirm if this really is nothing to worry about - I don't know my gynae very well, I saw someone different during my first preganancy and he has now left town. He says it will diminish but most likely won't go away altogether after the birth. It looks aweful! I don't even want my hubby to see! Have any of you other ladies experienced anythign like this. I never had this problem with my first baby. Please help if you can.

It is difficult to make a diagnosis without examining you, but these could be varicosities, similar to varicose veins. If this is the case, they are not a major problem and should disappear after delivery.
