High Cholesterol and Menopause
I recently had an annual check up. I am 51. It was discovered that I have started menopause and my hormone count was very low. My tests also showed that I had a cholesterol count of just over 6. The other tests came back normal. I have never had high cholesterol before. Is there a connection between low hormone counts and high cholesterol. I eat a balanced diet - very little meat, some cheese and dairy. My diet has not changed over the last year. Do I need to go on to treatment for high cholesterol.

Hormones do not affect cholesterol. You should discuss with your GP or physician how to manage the high cholesterol.
