How does a "Fractional D&C" differ from a standard D&C?
While examining the invoice I received after undergoing a minor operation to rectify the complications of a previous cone-biopsy operation, I noted that I had in fact had a "fractional D&C".
I would like to know what is meant by the term "FRACTIONAL D&C".

It means that scrapings are taken from the cervical canal and then from the uterine lining. This is usually done to see if there are any cancer cells and if they have spread.
