info on sexually transmitted diseases:
Dear GynaeDoc and all the other people on this forum, I'm hoping you'll be able to give me some information.
How would one know if you have an std? What exactly are the symtoms? Are there any symtoms to look out for besides a discharge or abdominal pain? What does an std discharge look like, what colour is it? Is a clear discharge with no smell normal or is it something I must worry about? Can one get tested for std's at an pharmacy clinic or do you have to go to a doctor? Also can a pap smear detect an std?
Thanking you in advance!

Common symptoms of STDs are abdominal pain and discharge. The discharge is usually smelly and not clear. you will need to see a doctor to test for this. Pap smears pcik up some infections, but not all.
