mercilon pill - stopped for 2 - 3 weeks starting again.. when safe?
Hi
i have been taking the mercilon pill for past 4 - 5 months.
I did not manage to buy it this month as did not haven enough money for it (had unforseen expenses this month and before rrealised it had no money in acount) (I have not taken the pill for 2 -3 weeks now)
I have been using condoms in the mean time, i am going to buy the pill again tonight and start it again. However should i wait for my next period before i continue with the pill? I just want to make sure. Or is it safe to start it again (the same pill as i was taking before) and wait 7 days (so can start having sex without a condom again)
I do have a concern cuase before i was on the pill, my periods were very irregular - (sometimes 2 -3 months apart, once even 4 months) I took the pill partly because my bf and i dont like condoms but also to regulate my period.
So if i have to wait for my next period to take mericlon again i might wait a while or will the pill still have an effect on me for it to come round the end of this month? (i have not taken the pill for up to 2 - 3 weeks.
Please advice as best course of action - also regards to the irregular period - do u think there is a possibility i may not be ovulating? or what could be causing that

It is best to start again with your nest period. You will then be safe after 7 active pills. If your period is late, start the Pill without it after checking a pregnancy test. The irregular periods are likely to mean that you were not ovulating.
