No tests done and no urine tested - 17 weeks!
Hi. I am concerned. I am 17 weeks and have been to see my gynae twice now. He never tests urine and he never checks my weight. He also said he will only do all the blood tests when I am 20 weeks. Is this right? All he does when we go is a scan and checks my blood pressure. All my pregnant friends get their urine checked each time, and their weight is monitored as well. My gynae has not even asked me how much I weigh, nor how much I have put on. I am getting concerned that he is not doing his job properly and this baby will suffer for it if something is wrong ... what should he be doing?

The bloods are screening tests and, so long as they are done by 20 weeks, that is fine. Your urine should be checked at each visit for protein and glucose. The weight is not particularly important if you are having scans, as this is a better way of assessing the growth of the fetus.
