PCOS - To Gynaedoc & "Puppy"
After all the am I or aren't I? and finally calling the gynae etc. I went and bought a preg test yesterday and an hour later I started menstuation. It is however heavy and sore (back pain), and it alternates between red and brown. I also saw what I would assume to be clotting - is this all normal from the provera and PCOS? See I am worried that I may be too hastey and causing damage. See, as you know I went for the blood tests, they said I did not ovulate, then a week later I did not mensturate either - so I started provera. I think I should have perhaps waited a little, taken a preg test and then carry on. If I was preg (very early though), would the provera stopped it. For future use, please advise whether I should do a preg test before starting provera. thanks

This can be explained by the provera. You usually start the Provera around Day 15 of your cycle, so it is not necessary to do a pregnancy test. Also your doctor should be monitoring you so that you know wheterh you have ovulated and whether there are follicles growing.
