pelvic pain after intercourse
Dear Doc
I have had two children by caesarian section. Since the birth of my daughter a year ago, I experience severe pelvic pain AFTER intercourse. The pain usually starts approximately 10 minutes after intimacy and sometimes lasts up to 10 days. The pain migrates from below the bellybutton to both the left and right sides of the lower abdomen. I have consulted my gynae twice. He checked the uterus and ovaries by sonar and by doing internals and said all was in order. I also consulted my GP who mentioned that scar tissue might have attached to other organs. I have never had STDs, I have normal periods with no abnormal discharges. I am pretty desperate and because I have no medical aid, am not currently in a position to have a laparoscopy. (as suggested by the gynae.) I would really appreciate your help! Thanks so much.

I'm afraid that I don't have any suggestions. You have been examined by two doctors who have not found a cause, so the next step would be to have further investigations like the laparoscopy that your gynaecologist suggested.

Best wishes
