PERIOD OR NOT
Dear Gynaedoc

I am 40 years old
I have PCOS and have last seen a period about 6 months ago.

Last week I had a "period" which was a brownish colour instead of red/ dark colour for consecutive 3 days. Definitely not a discharge as it was much more than a mere discharge.

Can this be counted a period or not and if so, why is the colour so?

Regards

Yes, you could count this as a period. The colour of the blood is just a reflection of the womb lining, sometimes more lining and less blood.

Best wishes
