PREGNANT AT 42
I visited my gaynae for usual check up and found out I was 5/6 weeks pregnant. I have started menopause and my periods are very irregular, sometimes staying away for 3 months and getting one for a day or two. I am so worried now, what about down syndrome and all the dangers that comes with age. I am totally unprepared to this. I have been on Nordette all the time.

There is a higher risk of Down syndrome but an amniocentesis will tell if this is the case. You should also have your blood pressure and sugar levels monitored.
