Premature menopause?
Hi Gynaedoc

I am 34 years old and have been having irregular periods since my last baby 18 months ago.
Recently, I have been having hot flushes. I had a period July, Aug and Sept., skipped 2 months then had one on 3 Dec.

I had an appt with my gynae on 13/12 and he suspected that I may be going in for menopause.

My blood tests (D10 of cycle) showed the following:

FSH: 4.8
LH: 5.5
estradiol: <75
prog: 0.9

Am I menopausal or is it just a hormonal imbalance?

What can i use? My gynae said that I must come back in 2 months and have the tests done again. Only then will he put me on treatment

Thanks

The hormone levels do not indicate menopause.
There may be another reason for the irregular periods, i.e. anovulation, for which there are a umber of causes. You will need further tests to determine the cause.
