premature ovarian failure
Good day doctor,
Please could you give me your opinion on my situation:

For the last two years i have not ovulated or had a period by myself,it has always been indused with drugs(provera +clomid)
I have also been for numorous blood tests and scans,
My gynae now wants me to start HRT as she says i have sudden and unexplained Premature Ovarian Failure,
There is a history of it in my family as early menopause has kicked in at about age 32-36 in all the woman on my mothers side,is this genetic or just a fluke?
Doctor im only 25 years old and would really like to have a baby,we have been told that the chances of me concieving naturally are less than 10%,
How is this possible?
what happens that to cause this ?
Please could you tell me what happens next?

Im in utter shock ,i did not even discuss the next step with my doc,i just left and said i would call her later.

Your help would be appreciated
P.S i am in Cape Town ,if you could refer me to a specialist that you know of it would also be appreciated.

Many Thanks
Infertile

Premature ovarian failure should only be diagnosed if you have had at least 2 FSH readings which are high. It can run in families. Your best bet would be to go to a fertility clinic to discuss your options.

Best wishes
