Skin rash around mouth, cheeks and neck
For over a year now I have suffered with periodic skin rash which starts with the swelling of my lips and an ichy burning sensation around my mouth (particularly on my right side) then spreads down onto my neck and sometimes onto my eyelids. I am 46 years of age and although do not have periods, I do not suffer from any other menopausal symptom. I have tried keeping a record of what I eat & drink to establish whether a certain food or drink is causing an allergic reaction but so far there is no common factor.
It is very distressing and for weeks after the break out, my lips are sore and flaky dry skin and the skin on my neck has faint marks where the rash was particularly bad.
I have been to my GP and he subscribed Aterax, Zyrtec and
Betamethasone cream, which I take when the first signs appear.
Could this rash be associated to peri-menopause or stress and if so what can I do to prevent it reoccuring?
I am a vegetarian and would be interested if there is a natual remedy.

The skin tends to become drier and more wrinkled in the menopause, but rashes are not a symptom of the menopause. I would suggest that you see a dermatologist.
