trisomy 13
I recently had to terminate my pregnancy at 18weeks due to our little girl being diagnosed with trisomy 13 (evere mental and physical defects) After having a near perfect 1st trimester (no am sickness etc) we had the amnio, the risk was 1-81 (I was 43yrs at that stage) so our gynae suggested we have it done, we were devastated to find out that our baby girl had the worst of chromosome abnormalities, no brain had developed so her chances were very slim of even making it to full term.
Has anyone out there had to deal with this, and the decision of taking your baby's life? I still feel the guilt although every one including the doctors say it was the right thing to do.....

Babies with Trisomy 13 do not survive, so you have not taken a life. It would have died a few hours after birth anyway.

Best wishes
