Visits to a GP when preggies
If you are preggy is it safe to only see the GP, my GP gave me the time table to visit him every month, and every week in the last month. It does not look like he will refer me to a Gynae because he also told me that he delivered a lot of babies before. Or should I find a Gynae on my own? If I foind a Gynae will he also take another blood for blood tests and everything, I'm confused. I'm only 5 weeks .
It is your decision whether you choose to see a gynaecologist or your GP. This depends a bit on where you live and whether you have any risk factors. If your GP is experienced and this is an uncomplicated pregnancy and you have a long distance to travel to a gynaecologist, then you should be okay seeing your GP.
If you do decide to see a gynaecologist, you should ask your doctor to send all test result to him/her to avoid having to have them repeated.
