WANT TO HAVE A HYSTERECTOMY
I AM 37 AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF (BY MY CHOICE) I AM ABLE TO HAVE A HYSTERECTOMY? I HAVE TWO KIDS AND DO NOT WANT ANYMORE. I HAVE HEARD WHERE WOMEN FALL PREGNANT WHEN THEIR TUBES HAVE BEEN TIED? I NEED PEACE OF MIND AND KNOW I WILL NOT FALL PREGNANT AGAIN AS MY CHANCE OF HAVING A NORMAL BABY ARE 1 IN EVERY 150. THE RISK IS TOO GREAT AND BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE AGREED NOT TO HAVE ANY MORE KIDS. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT I SHOULD DO.
No, you would not be able to have a hysterectomy if there is nothing wrong with the uterus. It is a major operation which has complications. Sterilisations are 99.7% safe as is the Mirena. Both of these are good options.
