Dear Gynae Doc
i have just started taking yasmin and am a little confused,why did i start in the silver section.. 3rd day of my period?there are 7 white (inactive tablets) what happens when i take these?why do other contraceptives only have 4 white tablets?please clarify as i am really confused as to whether i am really protected or not.is it safe whilst on the white tablets?

It may be that you have a different pack. In any event, the yellow pills are active pills. Once you have taken 7 of these you will be protected. When you reach the white pills you will have a period. The lower dose pills have only 4 inactive pills because a shorther period is needed for them to remain safe.
