Medication for ADD
Please explain on what basis one will differentiate between Concerta and Stratera with regard to the ADD profile of a person. Also, please compare the side-effect profile of the two medicines.
Hi There Tom

Both these drugs are indicated for ADD/ADHD, and the prescriber usually makes the call based on results he/she had with these drugs in the past. Some users and some prelim studies indicate that Strattera are not quite as effective as Concerta and reltaed drugs.
Straterra is however often seen as first-line treatment because it has less stimulant properties than Concerta/Ritalin/etc. If treatment is not effective patients may be switched to concerta/ritalin.
