As with any other sexual dysfunctions, you should always consult your primary physician or a Urologist to determine if a medical condition is present. If no biological condition is present, it is safe to assume your condition is psychological in nature. This is good news! This means with a little restructuring of your behaviour and in some cases your beliefs, you can experience ejaculations that are "timed"more appropriately.

Young male virgins or inexperienced men may earn the nickname "The Minute Man" if they are unable to control their Pre-mature Ejaculations (PE) and last longer. Experienced men may be thought of as selfish. Either way, if you do not correct this problem, your relationship may suffer greatly. The treatment for PE is simple and painless if somewhat embarrassing for some and enjoyable for others.

First, I recommend you become accustomed with your body and learn its "point of inevitable ejaculation". The only way to learn this is through masturbation. You must therefore re-evaluate your thinking about masturbation if you have any biases against it. Masturbation not only allows you to become more in-tuned with your body, it allows for harder and longer erections as well as buildings your ejaculatory control. It also allows you to expel old semen that has build-up. Despite some religious beliefs, the expulsion of semen does not "weaken" a man nor cause body/soul damage. It is important to remember that the penis is a muscle and like every other muscle it atrophies if it is not used and kept strong.

Another exercise to perform is Kegels. Kegels are performed by contracting your PC muscles, holding it for a count of 4, and then releasing it. When exercising the PC muscle correctly, you will not only feel your penis rise and lower, you may also feel a tightening in your anus. The PC muscle covers the perineal area and also controls urinary incontinence. Do three sets of 8, three times a day‹every day! Do not be discouraged if you are unable to feel the tightening of your PC muscle. This takes practice. However if you perform it faithfully, you will see vast improvement within the month not only with your PE but also from longer stronger erections.

Now we get to the really hard stuff-your mind. You must also get in touch with what you are thinking. If you are anxious or overly excited you may find yourself experiencing PE. Notice what you are thinking. Are you nervous? Exhausted? Have you come too quickly in the past and fear it will occur again? How is your self-esteem?

With a patient partner, you can elicit their assistance in dealing with PE. Allowing your partner to take the dominant position and control the thrust is one way. Communicating your point of ejaculation certainty will allow them to help prevent your PE. This is accomplished by you or your partner immediately squeezing the head of the penis between your thumb and index finger, applying pressure above and below the tip; approximately 1-inch from the urethra. This will cause you to lose your erection slightly however gives you the time necessary to control your ejaculations. As you become aroused again, you will notice another erection. You can perform this procedure repeatedly during one sexual encounter; it will allow you to enjoy yourself and your partner longer.

If you continue to experience PE, despite your efforts to perform the Squeeze Technique, Kegels, or self-pleasure exercises, you should treatment from a trained Sex Therapist. Be patient as these exercises take time to learn and work!
