I dont want to build bulky muscle
Hi Vanessa
I attend the gym on a regular basis, however I am not seeing results, I'd like to start taking supplements - but I am afraid that if I take protein shakes etc that I will become "too" muscular - I only want to firm up and become more toned, I dont want to become "manly" - what should I be taking to avoid this and when?

Taking liquid food (supplementation) has major benefits therefore you will see the results that you want if you apply it correctly. Energy balance mean if you take in more calories (energy) whether it is from protein / fat / carbs will make you fat and if you take in less you will lose weight. It almost sounds like you are taking in too little nutrition to see any results. I suggest that people eat six meals per day – keep the fat low and eat a balance of protein and carbs (low GI) at each of those meals. If you do not know how to perform the exact energy calculation pertaining to your body it is best to dish up a palm six protein and a fist size of carbs at each meal while keeping the fat intake low. If possible I suggest taking two meal replacements per day – two shakes or a shake and a bar. By following this regime you will shortly see a change, given that the energy balance is correct.

Thus you will not build bulky muscles unless you train very hard and accordingly feed those muscles to grow.
