Loose body fat and tone
Hi Doc,

I am currently wanting to loose weight and then tone. So i do 3-5 nights cardio for app 1 hour. Once i have lost all my weight i am going to do circuit and weights. I am just wondering if my diet is ok?

Breakfast: 1/2 cup oats with protein shake or 2 slices whole wheat (low GI) bread and fishpaste or 3 egg whites.

Snack: Protein shake

Lunch: chicken breast / 1/2 cup brown rice / Green veg or whatever we had for din previous night (mince & pasta). Or i will alternate between provitas and egg whites or whole wheat bread and egg whites or a tuna salad etc.

Snack: Protein shake

Dinner: mince & pasta / chicken breast, brown rice or potato in a jacket with veg / chicken salad / steak and potatoe and veg or salad etc.

My fats consist of olive oil (only cook with it). Or a provita after my meal with peanut butter.

I am currently weighing 56kg and my body fat is 25%

Your diet looks mostly good, however try to focus on eating lower GI carbs and watch the fat intake for some of the foods.

Make the following changes:
Fishpaste is very low in protein vesus the 3 egg whites – maybe add a boiled egg white to the fishpaste.
Try and stay away from the bread and pastas – rather opt for a mix of rice and lentils, or even better eat lentils or chic peas on their own.
Give mince a skip unless it is ostrich or chicken mince.
Eat red meat only once a week unless it is ostrich or pork fillet.
Replace the potato with sweet potato.
