I'm 20 years-old.studied for 2 years, started writing freelance and was offered a bursary to study journalism.which was amazing until I started and realised that I was over qualified to do the course.I've lost interest, don't want to go to class and it's giving me negative thoughts about writing. I don't want to contiue the course but because I'm on a bursary my parents won't let me drop out. i struggle to get out of bed in the morning and it's bringing me down. I'm confused about what I should do? Please help...

Hi there,

if you are on this particular path, try your best to see it through, but also begin to think about where this can lead onto, and focus on that rather than thinking that you are trapped. If you do well at this then it can lead on to more exciting possibilities.

I would also advise you to get some advice from qualified journalists about where to go to from here and how to motivate yourself.

Many people hit a lull in their studies and feel disillusioned - dont let that stop you from getting to where you want to be.
