having a baby.
I am 13 and I want to have a baby with my boyfriend we have talked about it. We both think it is right but we dont know how to tell our parents or all the facts we need to know to have a healthy baby. Can you help us?

Hi there,

however much you might think you want to have a baby at 13 you are simply not ready emotionally or financially to support a child. Developmentally you are still a child yourself, even though at times you will feel very adult.

Also at the age of 13 it is illegal for you to have sex. You are below the legal age of consent, and if you become pregnant your partner can be charged with Statutory Rape because the law states that at 13 you cannot give consent to sex.

So my response to you is clear - having a baby at this point in your life would not be psychologically healthy for you, your partner or your child. Think again.
