Home testing for dagga use
Is it possible to test at home for the use of dagga? As Medical Aids are reluctant to pay for the process and it is quite expensive, I would like to be able to test our son on a regular basis. Also how long do the drug traces last in the urine?

Thank you

yes you can get testing kits from the pharmacy. However, although they will show up positive or negative they do not give you a specific level of cannabis. Having the levels is useful as if someone has used you can see the levels come down which means that they havent used again. Cannabis will stay in the system for approximately 1 month.

If he does test positive it is helpful to then have at least one specific test done by a lab to see what level of cannabis is in his system after 2 weeks or so.

For further advice on drugs please contact an organisation such as the Cape Town Drug Counselling Centre. I am not sure where you are in South Africa, but if you contact them they will be able to tell you where your nearest service is.
