A friend of mine is suicidal again but , not too be nasty , for the wrong reasons . She broke up with her boyfriend and she said she has had a nasty past experience . She does act somtimes rather slutty , and im really wondering about her .

Ive tried to reason and be as kind and caring and supportive too her , and ive been a like , teen psycologist for some reason ( i dont know how or why ) but ive tried my hardest to stop her and it doesnt seem to get into her mind .

Hi TOoGoodFriend

Some times when we give advice, we empower the person to just keep on looking for attention, and sympathy. The best way to give advice is to be honest! Tell your friend that she must look at her own actions and that she must change her own behaviour and then her problems will deminish. Obviously, with emphathy. Don't by nasty!! just truthful.

Otherwise, if you don't feel comfortable to be so honest. Tell her that your advice is not changing her situation and that she must seek professional advice.

Good luck future shrink'i
