I think all parents should realize teens are sexual beings. Teens ARE people! The more information every person has regardless of age the better their decision making ability. To ignore or pretend sex among teens does not happen is irresponsible parenting, etc. I'm the father of 3 females 10, 17 & 19 and one male 13. I've seen and been through alot not only with my own son & daughters but their friends and significant others. Respect teens as people, listen to them and although thingsd may not go AS YOU WISH, in the end things will turn out. I highlighted as you wish, because what you want, desire, etc may not be what the young PEOPLE in your life wants or desires as they are asserting their independance at this age. This is normal and neccessary. In the teen years parents are not raisong children, but adults. Think about it, in the end you do not want an ignorant child out on their own but a confident young adult ready to tackle life.

Well said Mike. Teens need to be heard, and it is when they feel heard and can engage in meaningful conversation that they are safest.
