will this help?
I am in pretty good shape, my problem is I have cellulite and the shape of my thighs could be better. I don't want to loose weight, just tone and improve circulation. Will yoga be best for getting rid of cellulite and help tone my thighs? I don't go to gym, I power walk three times a week in the hope this will help. I drink two litres of water a day; no coffee and stay away from take outs etc. My masseuse says that deep breathing and moderate exercise is best for shifting this stubborn fat! Also in the past when working out my legs at gym I gained muscle (which I don’t want) and the shape and cellulite remained!!! How frustrating. I need your advice, thanx

Hi Gigi - I am very reticent to recommend yoga for the sole purpose of getting rid of cellulite because ultimately its about developing a greater awareness of your body (and mind), through which changes will manifest in diet, health, relaxation and quite probably physically but those are almost byproducts if you know what I mean? You are not likely to gain muscle but rather through the stretching you can lose weight and increase muscle tone. The combination of the physical exercise and breathing would probably be a good balance to the walking too as well as improving blood circulation. I think you will find it is right for you (would I say anything else) but approach it with an open mind, try a few different styles, teachers and studios and settle on the one that you find most comfortable.
