Super bracelet just a rubber band

A bracelet, which is being worn by high-profile sport stars to improve their athletic performance, has been branded as fake by a consumer watchdog.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) ordered Power Balance Australia to reimburse all clients that feel they have been misled by the so-called benefits of the bracelet.

Is has been found that the bracelet consists of ordinary rubber bands and plastic holograms.

The manufacturer claims that the bracelet would improve balance, power and agility by working through the "natural energy fields" of the wearer.

Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss are some of the well-known sportspeople that wear the bracelets. – (Nuus24, December 2010)
