Get your flu shot

About 20-30% of all South Africans get the flu every year. If you want to avoid getting sick this winter, the time to vaccinate is now.

Take action:

The best time to get the vaccine is in March/April before the influenza season really kicks off, although there is no set cut-off time after which you cannot be vaccinated. It takes about two weeks for the vaccine to give your body immunity against specific influenza strains. The vaccine is available at all clinics and hospitals nationwide, and many pharmacies also offer a flu-vaccination service.
