Good evening Dr Nikolic I have used GSK's Physiogel AI cream for many years now. It was recommended by a dermatologist for my skin type due to its sensitive nature. I found that this cream worked very well for me. Unfortunately it's been discontinued and now I need a replacement. I use this moisturizer every morning, so unfortunately something that's prohibitively expensive won't work. Can you perhaps recommend an over-the-counter replacement I can try out? Thank you in advance for your time and feedback!

Hi Carlo thank you for the question.

This is a difficult question to answer as I can’t find the ingredients used in the GSK's Physiogel AI Cream. I have searched online, and the overseas stockists list the product but not the ingredients. If you still have a bottle then please send me all the ingredients. This will help me look for a similar alternative that is available in SA.

Another option is to look at La Roche Posay and the Lamelle Serra Range both of which are indicated for sensitive skin types.

More info on the La Roche Posay products can be found here:

In the LRP range they have products more for sensitive, barrier repair, and dry skin:

And they also have a range for sensitive, red, and inflamed skin:

More info on the Lamelle Serra products can be found here: and from this range the best seller is the Serra Restore:

I hope the above has helped

Kind regards

Dr Alek Nikolic
